Kill Leofrith
Killing Leofrith sends him to meet his god believing he has done his duty on the earth. He will gladly accept this end and you kill him quickly and cleanly. Ceolbert will say he didn’t deserve that, but you will say he earned it. You then return to town with Ceolbert and cannot loot Leofrith’s body. After all is said and done, the Zealots will now seek you out and try to kill you if you are close enough to them. The Zealots are the helmet icons on the map.

The only reason I can see you making this choice is because you want the game to be a little more challenging.

Spare Leofrith
If you choose to spare Leofrith, something else happens. Evior tells Leofrith that his king abandoned him and gave up the crown. Leofrith appreciates the gesture of great kindness and he tells you of a statue with a scroll in a small bowl. He then flees to Rome. If you destroy the scroll, the Zealots will not hunt you down. The Zealots are the guys in the with the helmet icons on the map. They will still be around, they just don’t try to kill you on sight.
