5 Horror Games You Must Play This Halloween 2024

Crow Country

A decrepit theme part awaits with the release of SFB Games’ survival horror title Crow Country.

Set long ago in the year 1990, this survival horror title tasks players with uncovering the mystery of why Edward shut down the titular Crow Country theme park.

True to the era it is set in, Crow Country will test players intelligence as they solve puzzles and riddles, all while unlocking and discovering new spots. Rounding things out is a presentation that’ll sure to appeal to those who dream in 32-bit.

Crow Country is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

7 Minutes in Hell

High-stakes challenges – and the prizes to match! – await players with the release of Gaggle Studios Inc.’s new co-op horror title 7 Minutes in Hell.

Teaming up – or fighting against – one’s friends, 7 Minutes in Hell will pit players against terrifying monsters, obstacles, and traps under the host JRDarkX. The ultimate goal? Snatch as much loot and valuables as one can in seven minutes, all while making a swift escape.

Sounds daring, right? 7 Minutes in Hell will keep players on their toes with different arenas, monsters, and obstacles each time. No need to fear, though; 7 Minutes in Hell features built-in voice and proximity chat and a chance to use one’s hard-earned winnings for gear before each round.

7 Minutes in Hell is available for the PC in Early Access.

RetroRealms Arcade

A chilling throwback to raw arcade thrills, WayForward Technologies and Boss Team Games are taking players to the past with the first two RetroRealms Arcade entries.

The recent release gives both “Halloween” and “Ash vs Evil Dead” a 16-bit flair, a nostalgic horror soundtrack, and the signature gore the classic properties are known for.

On that note, gameplay in these two RetroRealms titles will task players with slicing and shooting through multiple levels. True to form, there are secrets, upgrades, unlockables, and leaderboards for both titles.

RetroRealms Arcade is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead

Players will need to survive in silence with the release of Stormind Games and Saber Interactive’s single-player horror adventure A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead.

A spinoff of the popular movie franchise, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead has players strive for silence in a post-apocalyptic setting as they contend with horrific creatures that hunt using only sound.

For a truly immersive experience, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead also supports an optional “Microphone Noise Detection” setting. With it in place, creatures will react to sounds made through a connected microphone or headset – the ultimate test.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The Outlast Trials

Players will be able to experience mind-numbing terror with their friends with the release of Red Barrels’ multiplayer horror title The Outlast Trials.

Set in the Cold War era, The Outlast Trials has human prisoner guinea pigs (you) that are involuntarily recruited by the Murkoff Corporation to test advanced methods of brainwashing and mind control.

Flying either solo or with up to four players total, The Outlast Trials tasks players with taking on immersive story-driven therapies and MK-Challenges that feature redesigned sections of an existing map.
