How To Repair Weapons In Stalker 2 Heart Of Chornobyl
Managing your equipment is vital to your survival in Stalker 2, so you want to maintain it well. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock the repair option so you can fix your guns and avoid penalties.
If your weapons or armor are damaged, you will see a yellow or red shield icon on the item to showcase its condition. Yellow is damaged, red is broken. Weapons will misfire and lock up, armor provides much less resistances.
If you want to unlock the ability to repair your equipment, follow the main story to the first civilian settlement. Once here, you will be tasked with speaking with the bartender.
BONUS TIP
UPDATE: This appears to have been patched. Repairing weapons no longer turns a profit, so it’s best just to sell the slightly damaged items (yellow shield icon).
Early in the game, most of the weapons you find are broken. These can be repaired at the Technican and then sold to the vendor for a profit. It’s one of the best methods to earning money early in the game.
Once that conversation is finished, head outside and speak with the Stalker that beckons you over. He will give you a quest to speak to a Technician. Simply head to the location and speak with the Technician to unlock the ability to repair gear.
Repairing and then selling does not turn a profit.
You are correct. I’ve updated the post. Not sure what’s changed tbh

No it’s not.
I assume you’re playing on Rookie as on Stalker or higher you spend more on repairing than it sells for by miles. You will find most people don’t play on journalist mode.. sorry easy mode.
More misinformation by journalists.
Firstly, I’m not a journalist. Secondly, it’s not misinformation. I played a different version of the game than you did. I’m not sure it’s a difficult setting change, it could be, but I’ve just tried it again at the start on easy, and it didn’t work. So I think it was patched. Need to do a bit more testing to be sure
I’ve updated the article.
