Playable Comic Book Style “ComixVania” Comix Zero Announced

The team at Bear Games has announced their new title Comix Zero, a genre-bending “comixvania” set within an interactive comic book.

Comix Zero lets players take control of the slacker Zero. Known for his bad jokes and questionable hygiene, he sets out to kill the baddies, get the girl(s), head back home.

There’s just one catch – things got complicated when Zero became immortal.

Comix Zero sets out to reinvent the MetroidVania genre with Soulslike progression. Along the way, players will be able to tailor Zero’s gear to match one’s playstyle with RPG-inspired customization.

Comix Zero also features an “interactive comic book” design not unlike the one found in Comix Zone. Its world is laid out as a graphic novel, with players moving across panels and breaking through page gutters.

Comix Zero will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

While a release date has yet to be announced, all those interested in Comix Zero can wishlist the title via its official Steam page. Fans can also follow the development team on Twitter/X.
