Far Cry 6 Fishing Guide

Alright before you start trying to fish all over the place first things first. You need to find a tackle box and upgrade your line and lures. I like to go to this one here because I can air drop in and wing suit there easily.

If you have access to the Guerilla camps, get a fishing post upgrade for some extra angler gear. If you can get the gloves they will help you reel fish in quicker.

Now to the fishing itself. You can normally see the fish because the water is so clear, but if not check for ripples. If you go to a fishing spot and see nothing, cast out and reel in to see if any fish are around. Once you hook one, the real challenge begins. You need to reel it in and make sure the line doesn’t snap.

Reeling involves you holding L2 and yoinking back on the stick to move the pole back, dragging them in quicker. Priority one is watching the line, green is good, yellow is worrying, orange you need to back off a bit and let the fish pull.

You need to look at this sort of like a fight. Your main goal here is to tire the fish out, which means if the fish is pulling left, you pull right. Basically you are trying to do the opposite of what the fish is doing, but make it to the angle isn’t completely ruining your line. Maneuver the line around a bit while pulling and you will notice it goes down quicker in some spots and doesn’t even drop in others. If you can find the sweet spot, you will be able to reel it in quickly without any issues.

• Get fishing pole from main story
• Find tackle box to upgrade your fishing pole
• Upgrade Guerilla Fishing Post for Angler Gloves
• Cast out and watch your line – Green good – Yellow Ok- Orange means back off
• Watch out for rocks, boats, Amigos, and other obstacles that ruin your line
• Reel in while pulling back to get the fish
