Backyard Soccer ‘98 Now Available on Steam

The team at Mega Cat Studios, together with Playground Productions, have announced that Backyard Soccer ’98 is available on Steam. ⚽️

The second game from the Backyard Sports Franchise, Backyard Soccer ‘98 has been enhanced to run on modern systems.

New to the title? Backyard Soccer ‘98 lets players coach their Backyard athletes to the championship, play a pick-up-game on their favorite field, and listen to classic commentators Sunny Day and Earl Grey.

Looking to the future, Playground Productions – led by Founder & CEO Lindsay Barnett and Chief Product Officer Chris Waters – and Mega Cat Studios are working on making many of the Backyard Sports announced classic titles accessible for both mobile gameplay to reach a wider audience.

In addition, a next-generation video game inspired by the classic is deep in production. Finally, the company seeks to expand the ways Backyard fans can engage with both the brand and its beloved characters.

As part of an introductory offer, Backyard Soccer ‘98 is 10% off on Steam from now through December 4. The title is also Steam Deck verified.

Want to stay connected on all things Backyard Sports? Be sure to check out each of these titles via its official Steam Franchise page, which includes Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey and Soccer.
