Can You Whistle Or Distract In Far Cry 6
You Can't Whistle, But There's An Alternative
Stealth feels a bit more difficult in Far Cry 6 but there’s some tools to help. This guide on Can You Whistle Or Distract In Far Cry 6 will explain the distraction mechanic used in Far Cry 6 as it combines a popular past time of the Yaran people with a satisfying way to distract guards.
Unlike previous Far Cry games, Far Cry 6 doesn’t have a whistling mechanic and it doesn’t have a skill system. In previous games you would have to spend Skill Points to learn things like multiple takedowns but in Far Cry 6, these features are available by default – but the game doesn’t do a very good job of explaining that.

This makes stealth a little more challenging than previous games. Especially if multiple enemies are in close proximity. Using stealth to try and takedown multiple enemies rarely works well, mostly because the on-screen prompts aren’t very clear. Most of the time, you’ll try to kill the second one, and your character stands there waiting to get shot. Not ideal.
However, there is an alternative. Baseballs. Open your weapon wheel with L1/LB and you will see, on the left, you have a list of throwable items. Depending on where you are in the game and what you’ve unlocked, there’s a variety of options that can be here. However, even from the very start, Baseballs are an option. Simply select the baseball and you can then throw it with R1/RB. It doesn’t do a lot but if you throw it close enough to guards, it will distract them and cause them to investigate the sound. Just enough time to take one or two down without being seen.
They can also be used to set off tripwires and proximity mines, handy eh?
