How To Distract Enemies In Star Wars Outlaws

Understanding how to distract Kay’s enemies in Star Wars Outlaws is vital, for two reasons. Firstly, it allows Kay to quickly and easily avoid or dispatch of enemies and secondly, it’s required to unlock some Expert abilities.

Once an enemy is distracted, Kay has two different choices she can make. The distraction can serve as a method to allow Kay to avoid detection, bypassing guards or cameras without being discovered.

However, a distracted enemy is also vulnerable. While they will still detect Kay if she enters their cone of vision, they can be defeated with a takedown ability in a single blow.

To distract enemies or security cameras, Kay must use her Nix abilities. Highlight the Nix vision, using either LB or L1 on console. PC controls can be seen in the bottom left of the screen, while playing.

This brings up the Nix interface, allowing Kay to assign Nix specific actions. The Distract action is contextual, which means it only becomes available once certain criteria are met.

For Distraction, you simply need to highlight an area that is within line of sight of a camera or enemy. You will then see Nix’s icon change to the Distraction icon, as shown in the image above.

Then, simply press the Distract button and Nix will activate after a few seconds. You can then takedown enemies to complete the objective.
