Star Wars Outlaws Experts Guides
Experts are unique characters hidden throughout the Star Wars universe. Each Expert offers Kay a selection of unique and powerful abilities that can be unlocked if you fulfill specific requirements.
In this guide, we cover everything you need to know about the Expert system in Star Wars Outlaws. We’ll tell you where you can find and how to unlock each of the Experts in the game, as well as the unlocking requirements for each of their abilities and how to complete them.
Bonus Tip
Many of the Expert abilities Unlock Conditions feature unique or rare materials. To locate these, simply open the ability in the Expert menu and select the “Show on map” option.
This will bring up Intel information on the location of the rare part. You can then track the quest and head directly to the location.
Bram The Bartender (Canto Blight)
Bram The Bartender is the first Expert Kay will unlock during her adventures. As you follow the main story, Bram will give you a mission to break into a Mansion. Once you reach the Mansion, the game introduces the Expert’s system via a brief tutorial, and Bram is the first expert available.
Bram’s available abilities are as follows (it’s important to note that many of these abilities cannot be unlocked until you have left Canto Blight)
- Cantina Brawling (Melee combo attack)
- Lockpicking (Allows Kay to lockpick doors)
- Fast-Talk (Kay can distract a single enemy)
- Keep Talking (Kay can distract multiple enemies at once)
- Armored Undershirt (Increases Kay’s maximum health)
- I Know Someone (Unlocks Requests)
Unlock Conditions
Cantina Brawling
This is unlocked by default once Kay reaches the Mansion
Lockpicking
This is unlocked once Kay reaches the Mansion during the story
Fast-Talk
Use takedown on distracted enemies
Defeat enemies with melee
You can find many enemies within the Mansion, allowing you to unlock Fast-Talk right at the start of the game. Simply use the Takedown abilities on enemies to complete the first stage.
For the second stage, use Nix to distract them first. Hold L1/LB to activate Nix, select an area near an enemies line of sight, and it will change to the Distract option. You can then takedown a distracted guide to complete the objectives.
Keep Talking
Unlock Fast-Talk
Defeat enemies affected by Fast-Talk using Stun Shot
Once Fast-Talk has been unlocked, simply use it to distract enemies. You do this by using the prompt (R3 on consoles) when it appears, as you approach an alerted enemy. You then use the Stun Shot ability on the blaster, by aiming and press R1/RB.

Find Coarseweave
Find Ironweave
You can find Coarseweave all throughout the game. It is one of the most common items found on the ground, or when you use Nix to obtain nearby items.
The Ironweave can be purchased from Berek Keehro on Mirogana at the Mirogana Market. You need to complete the first main heist on Toshara to unlock the area for exploration.

Meet different Merchants
Spend credits are Merchants
Simply interact with 6 different Merchants and spend a total of 1,000 Credits across all Merchants. You only need to speak with them for the first objective.
Aila Bren The Slicer (Tosharan)
The Slicer is unlocked during the story after Kay complete the main story mission, New Tricks. After finishing New Tricks, Danka tells Kay about some of her contacts, contacts that can upgrade her equipment. This includes unlocking the Slicer Kit.
You will need to head to Makal’s Gambling Parlor in Mirogana and eavesdrop on a conversation at the bar. This will start a sequence of objectives to unlock The Slicer as another Expert.
- Slicing Kit (Advanced hacking device)
- Sneak Shot (Provides additional damage to stealth shots with the blaster)
- Concussive Smoke (Smoke Bomb upgrade that stuns enemies in the radius)
- Sneaky Trap (Unlocks Nix ability to trap Alarm Panels)
- Lightfooted (Halves detection distance when Kay is Walking and Sprinting)
- Slice Kit Upgrade (Increase energy of Slicing Kit and adds Jokers)

Slicing Kit
This is unlocked automatically when you unlock The Slicer Expert
Sneak Shot
You need to complete an Infiltration Contract and Blast down distracted enemies. This simply involves using Nix to distract an enemy, and then defeating it with a blaster while it’s distracted. Infiltration Contracts open up after you complete the main Story Mission, Sabotage. Danka will call and inform you new contracts have opened.
Concussive Smoke
Unlock Smoke Bomb from Expert Selo Rovak. Then simply follow the Ion Capacitator Charge Key Intel objective to find the key item. The Accu-Accelerator can be purchased in Bestine from the Scavenger shop run by Otip Ashtep.
Sneak Trap
Command Nix to use 7 different actions. Complete a Slice in 3 attempts or fewer. The Slice is easy with the subroutines so just keep exploring and using the Slicer, and you will get this before long.
Lightfooted
Complete a Smuggler Contract. These are unlocked in the story after you complete the Sabotage mission. You can then speak with various representatives of different factions for new missions.
The Smuggler Contracts are the ones that task you with grabbing an item from a pickup location and then quickly transporting it to drop-off, no fast travel is allowed.
Perform a Takedown on an Imperial Officer, and Lockpick 3 different locks. Imperial Officers are Empire units in a dark gray suit, easily found at the Empire stronghold in the region.
Slice Kit Upgrade
Find a Code Breaker Chip, 8x Chalcopyrite, and 3x Direct-Energy Circuit. The Code Breaker Chip can be found at the Shipjacker Workshop. When you unlock The Slicer, it becomes an Intel Quest. Check your journal and follow the objectives.
Selo Rovak The Mechanic (Tosharan)
After finishing New Tricks, a main story mission on Toshara, Danka will tell Kay about upgrading her slicing kit and Speeder. Speak with the barkeep in Jaunta’s Hope to start the mission chain to unlock The Mechanic.
- Speed Boost (Installs a speed boost option on the Speeder)
- Speeder Jump (Unlocks a short upwards jump with the Speeder)
- Treasure Hunter (Nix provides cues when containers are nearby)
- Smoke Bomb (Smoke grenade that obscures vision)
- Scoundrel’s Pouch (Increase capacity of grenades and Bacta Vials)
- Outlaw’s Pouch (Further increases capacity of grenades and Bacta Vials)

Speed Boost
Unlocked automatically when you unlock Selo Rovak
Speeder Jump
Perform a jump of 60m without falling off the Speeder
Treasure Hunter
Find and open 10 Containers, use Nix to Fetch an item, and then find 4 different ways to make Nix happy. I already had 3/4 on this one but I believe included actions are Grappling Hook Swing with Nix, Detonate an explosive barrel and kill enemies, eat food at the market, and rescuing Nix during a story section later.
Smoke Bomb
You need to find a Smoke Bomb Compressor, 7 Polycarbonate, and 3 MG-2 Power Exceeder. The Smoke Bomb Compressor is in Fallen Mound on Tashara, you will have a Key Part Intel quest for it. The MG-2’s are easily found in chests inside Empire controlled locations. There are some aboard Fuel Station Visavi.
Scoundrels Pouch
The Durafiber Fabric is another Key Part Intel quest, it can be found in Boulder Forest, West of Jaunta’s Hope.
Outlaws Pouch
As with previous objectives, the Elastic Durafiber Fabric is a Key Item Intel, so select it in the journal and follow the objectives. Direct Energy Circuits can be purchased at Shuma Rogue Merchants stall, where you purchase the Elastic Durafiber Fabric.
Sheriff Quint The Gunslinger (Tatooine)
When you arrive at Tatooine for the first time, you will need to head to the Cantina in Mos Eisley. Once there, you will hear rumors of a famous Gunslinger. This begins The Gunslinger Expert Intel quest. Simply follow the objectives to unlock this Expert.
- Adrenaline Rush Mastery (Adrenaline rush can target objects, and two additional enemies)
- Powered Recharge (Boost Adrenaline when Perfect Cooling is achieved)
- Speeder Shot (Allows for automatic targeting of Adrenaline Rush when riding a Speeder)
- Resilient (Increases Kay’s maximum Health)
- The More (Allows Kay to highlight 1 additional target during Adrenaline Rush)
- The Better (Allows Kay to target tougher enemies twice during Adrenaline Rush)

Adrenaline Rush Mastery
This is unlocked automatically, after you unlock The Gunslinger Expert
Powered Recharge
Defeat enemies with the Blaster Power Module. Pick 3 locks first attempt.
Speeder Shot
Win 3 Speeder Races (Random world events), and hit 5 Headshots on driving enemies.
Resilient
Defeat 10 Imperial Forces at Wanted Level 3 or higher, the count resets if you are lost. Defeat 5 enemies in a row while on 1 health.
The More
Land 15 Headshots with the blaster and kill 4 enemies in a single Adrenaline Rush, 3 times.
The Better
Unlock The More. Then defeat 3 Death Troopers in a row and kill 6 enemies with a single Adrenaline Rush. I have only been able to find Death Troopers via the Wanted system so far.
Get a maximum Wanted level with the Empire and a map icon appears to fight Death Troopers.
Teeka The Hotfixer (Tatooine)
After you finish Tatooine story missions, you will receive a mission called Jabba’s Favor. After this mission begins, ND-5 contacts you about upgrading your ship. This will begin The Hotfixer Expert Intel quest.
- Laser Turret (Repairs the Trailblazers Turret)
- Improved Grenade (Damage and radius of Grenades increased by 50%)
- Enhanced Bacta Injector (Increases Bacta Vials healing potency)
- Magnetic Dice (Unlocks a new cheat for Kay at Sabacc)
- Cheeky Explosion (Nix can now trigger Grenades held by enemies)
- M’Gasha (Decreases all merchant prices and increases selling value by 10%)
Unlock Conditions
Laser Turret
This is unlocked by default, once you unlock The Hotfixer
Improved Grenade
This requires Compact Detonite, Durasteel, and Acc-Accelerator.
Enhanced Bacta Injector
This upgrade requires a Burst Injector, Transparisteel, and Helicyclic Gears.
Magnetic Dice
The Magnetic Dice ability is unlocked with a LC3 Skifter, Slivian Iron, and Direct-Energy Circuits.
Cheeky Explosion
To unlock this Nix ability, you need to pickpocket 3 times and have Nix taste three different meals. There is a unique meal on each planet, at the Marketplace.
M’Gasha
You must reach Trusted Customer Status with 3 merchants and find 5 Jawa Traders. To increase Customer rating with Merchants, buy and sell goods, selling Datapads for reputation seems to increase it quickest.
Rooster Trace The Mercenary (Kijimi City)
When you land on Kijimi, head to The Domak Refectory in Kijimi City and speak with the bartender to begin this quest chain. The bartender will tell you to speak with Rooster. You will then start The Mercenary story quest, complete that to unlock this Expert.
- Can I Try That? (Allows Kay to pick up more enemy weapons)
- I Like This Thing (Increases ammo of picked up weapons by 25%)
- Feelers Out (Doubles Nix’s detection distance with Nix Sense)
- Sharpshooting (Greatly increases Adrenaline earned from headshots)
- Loop Maneuver (Gives the Trailblazer a 180 degree flip turn)
- Top Roll Maneuver (Gives Trailblazer a 360 degree to get behind pursuers)

I Like This Thing
Pick up 5 different weapons and defeat enemies with them
Feelers Out
Use Nix to fetch a weapon, Bacta Vial, and grenade. Complete a Thief contract avoiding detection, and make Nix jealous. This is done by simply interacting with another animal in Nix’s presence.
Sharpshooting
Get 15 Headshots, complete an Enforcer contract, and use a Marksman rifle to defeat 8 enemies
Loop Maneuver
Defeat 6 Tie Interceptors, defeat 12 enemy ships, and complete a Space Smuggler contract. Head to Toshara space and assault the Empire base in space. Tie Interceptors will sometimes spawn in response.
Top Roll Maneuver
Unlock Loop Maneuver. Defeat an Imperial Gozantic-Class Cruiser in space and complete a Space Enforcer contract. The contracts are marked by a gun and galaxy symbol. To find a Gozantic-Class Cruiser, simply attach the Empire space base in Toshara orbit.
It will arrive when you reach maximum wanted level.
Temmin Wexley The Scavenger (Akiva)
When you arrive on Akiva, you will be tasked with finding and freeing Gedeek during the quest The Droidsmith. It’s a straightforward story quest, so follow the objective markers to complete the quest.
Once completed, Gedeek will tell you about a friend that can help upgrade your speeder. Head to Sashin, when your ship is now docked, and speak with the Scavengers family to continue the quest.
Once complete, you unlock this Expert.
- Hydrorepulsor (Allows the Speeder to traverse deep water)
- Electro-Shock Prod (Allows Kays takedowns to work on Elite enemies)
- Ion Smoke Bomb (Adds ion damage to smoke bombs)
- Assisted Scavenging (Nix sometimes rewards Kay with extra loot from containers)
- Scavenger’s Footwear (Medium increase to Kay’s crouching speed)
- Survivor (Increase Kay’s maximum health)
Unlock Conditions
Hydrorepulsor
This is unlocking automatically, once you unlock The Scavenger Expert.
Electro-Shock Prod
Collect 5 Ion Cells, 15 Chalcopyrite, and 1 NL-02 Charge Emitter. update to find the rare part.
Ion Smoke Bomb
Collect 25 Durasteel, 10 Ray Accelerators, and 1 Flux Compressor.
Assisted Scavenging
Collect 2500 Credits, complete 5 Merchant Requests, and find 4 Smuggler Caches. Smuggler Caches become available after you start Jet Kordo’s Legacy Vault quest.

Survivor
Defeat 3 Death Troopers and find a stranded merchant on Akiva. To find Death Troopers, attack an Imperial base and get a maximum wanted level. This will spawn a camp with 3 Death Troopers and an Imperial Officer.
Lando Calrissian The Highroller (Akiva)
When you first arrive on the planet Akiva, you will be told to head toward the Cantina. When you get there, speak with the bartender to learn of a high roller Sebacc game going on in the area.
Follow the objective markers to learn that it is a high roller of another sorts. Continue the mission and you will have to go to Kijimi and win a Sebacc token.
- Plan A (Gives Kay a cheat ability to draw multiple Sabacc cards)
- Plan B (Unlocks the Heavy Blaster weapon for Kay)
- Roll Maneuver (Unlocks a strafing roll for your ship)
- Shoot First (Opening blaster shot from out of combat deals increased damage)
- Ask Later (After un-holstering Kays weapon, missed shots provide small Adrenaline boost)
- Just Improvise (Very high Adrenaline boost after Fast-Talk sequence)

Plan A
This is unlocked automatically, once you unlock Lando as an Expert
Plan B
This ability is also unlocked after you unlock Lando
Roll Maneuver
Defeat 10 enemies in space, find 10 containers in space, and dodge incoming missiles. To dodge a missile, wait until the last moment and use the L1/R1 strafe.
Shoot First
Win 3 games of Sebacc after cheating 3 times. Win 2 Sebacc High-Rollers games. Defeat enemies with blaster hip fire.
Ask Later
Unlock Shoot First. Then you need to find 8 Charms, defeat two Sabacc Nemesis, and defeat an enemy with a single hipfire shot. You need to use the Heavy Blaster for this last one or use the explosive shot and kill a weak enemy/creature. I’d already had both Nemesis just following the Sebacc story missions. Charms are rare loot items and can be purchased from some vendors.
You also get Charms as Reputation rewards.
Just Improvise
Reach Good and above reputation with 3 Syndicates at the same time. Loot 2 different Syndicate vaults. Every planet has a Syndicate Vault inside the faction territory. When you find the vault, a computer is nearby, you hack the computer to find all of the keycards.
MT-7 The Veteran (Akiva)
MT-7 was the last Expert I unlocked but he may be available sooner, depending on what planets you have completed. You need to find at least a single collectible of Encrypted Messages. You can find one in Toshara Orbit at the Wreck Cluster.
Once you have an Encrypted Message, complete Akiva and ND-5 should tell you about a CIS signal on the planet. If he does not, you may need to finish the other planets first. Follow The Veteran quest line to unlock this Expert.
- Decryption Module (Allows Kay to decrypt Encrypted Messages)
- Improvise (Increases Kay’s maximum health)
- Adapt (Increases healing effect of Bacta Vials)
- Overcome (Kay regenerates health when hurt by an explosion)
- Nix Commando (When Nix uses the Attack command, he will automatically attack another nearby enemy)
- Slice Kit Upgrade (Increases Energy for Slicing Kit Jokers)
Unlock Conditions
Decryption Module
This is unlocked automatically once you unlock The Veteran Expert. Encrypted Messages are found in the Databank menu, under Collectibles, and Transmissions.
Improvise
Defeat enemies using the environment (explosive barrels etc), and then find 3 Hideouts.
Adapt
Unlock Improvise. Then you need 1 Power Injector System, 30 Transparisteel, and 15 Helicyclic Gears. The Power Injector System is at the Jawa trader in Mos Eisley outskirts.
Overcome
Unlock Adapt. Defeat Wanted 6 Event, defeat 3 enemies with a single explosion. For the Wanted 6 event, get a maximum Wanted level by assaulting the Empire, and then defeat the Dark Troopers and clear the wanted level.
Nix Commando
Blast down distracted enemies (shoot enemies distracted by Nix). Find 6 ways to make Nix happy.
